DOGS IN THE CINEMA! WATCHLIST

If you like dogs as much as I do, this list is for you.

ISLE OF DOGS (2018) DIR. BY WES ANDERSON

A perfect animated adventure and a love letter from all dog owners to their pets. And, apparently, the name of the movie is a play of sounds, as when pronounced fast, it sounds I love dogs.

101 DALMATIANS (1961) DIR. BY CLYDE GERONIMI, HAMILTON LUSKE AND WOLFGANG REITHERMAN

Amazingly crafted classics of animation, and picturesque tour guide for London.

ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD (2019) DIR. BY QUENTIN TARANTINO

Okay, this movie is not all about dogs, but Brandy wins world-wide screened love and is a key character in the film after all.

HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE (2016) DIR. BY TAIKA WAITITI

A charming and heart-touching story of two people in the heart of New Zealand attempting to break the system. Starring brilliant Julian Dennison and a legendary Sam Neill. Inspired by a novel.

AS GOOD AS IT GETS (1997) DIR. BY JAMES L. BROOKS

Atmospheric New York movie with Jack Nicholson, where it proves how a dog changes your life to better. SPOILER! There is a very brutual moment towards a dog which is not tolerated or can be approved in this blog.

PATRICK (2018) DIR. BY MANDIE FLETCHER

Richmond-based granddaughter of a very well-off old English lady receives a quite stubbron-spirited pug named Patrick as her inheritance. As the young woman is still trying to figure out her indepedant and very tangled life as an English teacher as school, Patrick is definitely helping and changing as does his new owner. Very contemporary and dog-based vision of Shakespeare’s classic The Taming of a Shrew on the author’s native soil.
